The spermicidal Nonoxynol-9 was once claimed to lower the chance of STD transmission. This is said to be used in condoms. In a study conducted by the World Health Organization, it has revealed that Nonoxynol-9 is an irritant and can create or fabricate small tears in mucous membranes. Thus, this will increase the threat of spreading by contributing pathogens into the system. As a result, condoms that has Nonoxynol-9 lubricant are banned in the market or moreover, cannot be promoted. Manufacturers of such, are becoming careful since they don’t want any user to catch a STD virus. As they say, condom is a good protection
