Itchiness

Phthirus pubis also known as pubic lice is a sexually-transmitted condition found mostly in adolescents. It generally occurs during sexual activity but some through physical contact with contaminated object like toilet seats, sheets and blankets. Some have acquired it while trying on a swim suit at a store.
Itching in the area covered by pubic hair with the presence of pubic lice is rated by moderate to severe. It is worst at night because it requires human blood to survive. It buries its head inside a pubic hair follicle and excretes a substance that causes the itching. Although the lice do not cause a rash, the bite sometimes can cause inflammation of the skin that is bluish gray in color and the constant scratching causes the skin to become raw.
Pubic lice appear to prefer the pubic area but sometimes they can also thrive on the eyelashes and the armpits.
