Sexually Transmitted Diseases are the latest scare of the modern era. When sexual intercourse became as common as shopping, people began to develop a phobia of sexually transmitted diseases. Herpes is the most notorious of them, followed by Gonorrhea. Both sexually transmitted diseases are incurable. Both can only be put to sleep for a period of time with the use of drugs. Both Gonorrhea and Herpes along with the rest of its kind are highly contagious. It can be caught not just through sexual intercourse but by the simple usage of the same sheets and the like. So long as there is contact with the disease, it can be caught. This is why motels are coined dangerous, it is due to the possibility of housing STD’s on its bed sheets and utensils.

Latex male condoms, when used consistently and correctly, can reduce the risk of transmission of trichomoniasis.

Any genital symptom such as discharge or burning during urination or an unusual sore or rash should be a signal to stop having sex and to consult a health care provider immediately. A person diagnosed with trichomoniasis (or any other STD) should receive treatment and should notify all recent sex partners so that they can see a health care provider and be treated. This reduces the risk that the sex partners will develop complications from trichomoniasis and reduces the risk that the person with trichomoniasis will become re-infected. Sex should be stopped until the person with trichomoniasis and all of his or her recent partners complete treatment for trichomoniasis and have no symptoms.

What are HPVs?

More than 40 types of HPV, which are the cause of genital warts (also known as condylomata acuminata or venereal warts), can infect the genital tract of men and women. These warts are primarily transmitted during sexual contact. Other, different HPV types generally cause common warts elsewhere on the body. HPV infection has long been known to be a cause of cervical cancer and other anogenital cancers in women, and it has also been linked with both anal and penile cancer in men.

HPV infection is now considered to be the most common sexually transmitted infection in the U.S., and it is believed that at least 75% of the reproductive-age population has been infected with sexually transmitted HPV at some point in life.

HPV infection is common and does not usually lead to the development of warts, cancers, or specific symptoms. In fact, the majority of people infected with HPV have no symptoms or lesions at all. The ultimate test to detect HPV involves identification of the genetic material (DNA) of the virus.

This condition is often result of an infection by Chalmydia or gonorrhea or other the many other viral/bacterial infections that cause STD’s. The condition is quite hard to detect and only becomes apparent during a pap smear or a biopsy. There are two types of cells that lines the female cervix which are flat skin-like squamous cells and glandular cells which secrete mucus. The cervix serves as a barrier that protects the uterus from harmful bacteria and viruses preventing them form damaging the vital parts of the female reproductive organ. The condition is more often than not to be caused by sexual intercourse with persons who are infected with the many viral and bacterial diseases known to cause the disease. Treatment for the inflammation is done with drugs while the underlying cause (STD’s) are treated with antibiotics.

For this reason users should clean anal toys (plugs, anal vibrators) carefully, if possible with use of special sex toy cleaners. Glass sex toys are more desired for sexual uses for the reason that of their non-porus nature and capability to be sterilized between uses.

There are a lot of programs that aims to raise awareness of such but sad to say, there are still a lot of teens who do get infected with STD’s. Shame or fear of being rebuffed often magnifies the problem for it prevents early detection and treatment of the underlying cause. Left untreated, many of these can have a devastating effect on the reproductive organs that may prevent conception in later years of life. Pregnancy without properly managed STD’s can also pass on the disease and infection to the unborn fetus that gets infected so early in life they need to get treatment right after birth. Safe sex has been promoted for quite some time and condoms are one of the easiest and cheapest ways of sexual safety. Proper hygiene and other measures can also be taken to ensure that if any infections occur, these teens should seek help at once to nip the disease before it becomes chronic and harder to deal with.

Most women would suspect UTI’s but without proper diagnosis, it can lead to cancer if left unchecked. The condition can also be caused by hormonal problems and other complications which may or may not find any problems with a simple urinalysis. Treated with low-dose antibiotics with the ailing urethra dilated with a special instrument, it is treatable and as with other STD’s, the earlier the better so complications are prevented in later life. This can result in frequent urination that is painful and difficult at which stage the urethra is already chronically inflamed.
Refer such pain with a gynecologist so you can get a better and more exact diagnosis, preventing complications. The hormonal issue can also be resolved with treatment and the symptoms dissipate as treatment takes place. Proper monitoring and hygiene is necessary to prevent further recurrence so diligence is the key.
